In this space I'll try to add some perspective to the local media scene in Buffalo.

Personal Debts may be catching up with ALT press
As I told you a week ago, kernwatch.com is looking at all the alternative forms of media in Buffalo. Buffalo Alternative Press, a sparcely read, mostly downtown distributed paper, is the focus of recent attention by kernwatch.com. In a recent email publication, I wrote:

"Now I have learned that ALT publisher Joe Schmidbauer, of Kullman Publishing, apparently uses his wife's name for his business ventures because he owed a judgment of $15,444 on unpaid student loans in January 1992 (now up to $30,000 with interest??)

As he is 'in bed' with lifelong politician of dubious outcomes, James Pitts, who gave his kids city hall intern jobs at ALT PRESS

Who can you trust?
The status quo clearly ain't working
Do we have any ALTERNATIVES?"

Now I see that the ALT press website is gone. Possibly because of unpaid debts. I fired off this email to ALT for a response. I'll keep you posted on their reply.
