In this space I'll try to add some perspective to the local media scene in Buffalo.

Originally dated the first of the month & out the19th to 24th, I shamed it into revising the date to the 15th (by sarcastically asking if it published on "Puerto Rican Time")

Obviously it is still on "PR time" . .often printing 'news' already expired by the time the couple hundred copies hit the street . . such as the many BMHA ads for contractors . .But at BMHA truth nor timeliness matter!

This may be Ultimate Whore's latest publishing date ever. Too bad nobody seems to care about journalistic ethics when it affects the struggling Hispanic community, which needs truth & real information more then the rest of us. Nor the integrity of a political rag (Pravda?) heavily funded by taxpayers.

It says . . .

"So sad to see the demise of another of Buffalo's "voices" (Blue, or should I say "Dead Dog). So many of the old Dogs writers now shampoo'ed into that "Faux Ho" Art Voice. But, what of Mr. Calleri? I'm told that he will now be coming out of the closet with his old pal Schmidbauer as nothing less than the Managing Editor.

How tough for Poor Joseph. So many editors, so little time.

And what happened to his last editor? Where did she go? She did such a nice job too (at least as good as Gus). Rumor has it that there was a physical altercation between the two.....

The Funny part is that not only could Calleri be taking over ALT, he might be pulling an end around on old Joe.

It seems that Joe has been pitching his age-old LABOR PAPER (picture of Stalin and Tractor here) to the usual Union suspects. Well, unlike so many other times before, a few of them are receptive. the Union-Courier is what it is supposed to be called.

Well after Joe finally gets half a nod, rumor has it that Calleri shows up with a polished version of Joe's union paper plan and they (supposedly) are really going to go with Michael's version (without telling Schmidbauer!).

Now mind you, thatis just what the water cooler chat is these days. WE'll have to see if that is true or not. But it must be tough on old Schmidbauer as it seems that his interns are getting younger and younger (some from High Schools now, I'm told...maybe he can get them jobs with Mr. Pitts as well!!).

It would be funny were it not true, he is accused of doing so much for Mr. Pitts yet he has never gotten a dime from him. Undoubtedly the dumbest patsy on record.
