Kernwatch.com asked County Legislator Greg Olma about his "legal defense fund", a fundraiser held in December of 2000. When we went to the Erie County Board of Elections to check on the latest political filings (July 15, 2001), Olma hadn't had the committee established yet. Seven months after raising several thousand dollars, and spending money from that account on at least two lawyers that Kernwatch.com knows of, Olma's response to questions was "it's none of your business".

Kernwatch.com may have missed some Election Law detail, so we're writing to the local Election Commissioners to ask about this defense fund and whether or not it is necessary to file disclosure forms when raising money. Check out the filing requirments listed on the State Board of Elections website. We'll post our letter to the Board, as well as their response, on this site.
